You give us a broad idea of what you want developed. Based on scientific methods such as Function Point Analysis as well as a strong dose of experience, we give you the first estimate of the effort required in man-days. This estimate is based entirely on the information you share with us at this point as well as the experience we may have with a similar requirement.
Why a 'broad idea' ? Well, unless you have learnt to trust us completely you may not want to tell us everything. But believe me when I say that everything we do for our client, we do in strictest confidence - even before the project is finalised and contract signed.
Having gone past Step One and having convinced you a little bit more that our faculties are in place, we sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with you. That encourages you to place more trust in us!
If you have your complete specifications in place, send them to us in the quickest possible way - e-mail / fax / courier - whatever you are most comfortable with. We evaluate your documents for a better estimate of the effort.
If your specs are more in your head than on 'paper', we could help you evolve a clear set of requirements. We do this using Object-Oriented Techniques expounded by James Rumbaugh.
Once your specs and the effort required have been clearly defined, together we work out the best platform for the system to be developed in. The delivery schedule is also laid down to match your own deadlines. You then print two copies of the Contract, sign each copy and then send it over to us via courier. Our authorised signatory will sign on each copy and return one copy to you via courier.
When does the work begin? Almost immediately. And often before we even receive the signed Contract from you.
